What is Plummer Block? 

Plummer blocks come with a choice of specific sealing solutions and end caps to ensure good sealing. The ability to easily mount and dismount pre-assembled shafts is one of the advantages. 

Plummer block housings can be utilized with self-aligning ball bearings or high-capacity spherical roller bearings. They are often made of high-strength cast iron, but they can also be made of cast steel or spheroidal graphite cast iron. The housings have a re-lubrication feature and can be lubricated with either oil or grease.

Cast iron Plummer blocks with high stiffness and ease of handling are ideal for high-performance applications. Spherical roller bearings (high load capacity) or self-aligning ball bearings can be installed. They can be utilized with cylindrical bore bearings or tapered bore bearings using adapters.

Variety of Sealing Options 

2 lip seal - Two pieces make into a double-lip seal. On both sides of the housing, there are four halves for mounting. The sealing effect is excellent.

Felt seal - One seal is made up of two retainers (two parts), two round cords (two parts), and one oil-soaked felt strip (two parts). It's also possible to utilize it with a V-ring seal. One housing comes with four halves of aluminum die-cast retainer, four half of NBR ring, and four felt strips for installation on both sides.

V-ring seal - One NBR rubber V-ring and one steel washer with a vulcanized NBR rubber lip make up one seal. As a result, each housing comes with two V-rings and two washers, which can be mounted on both sides.

Labyrinth seal - One cast-iron labyrinth ring and one NBR round cable make up one seal.

Taconite seal - One cast-iron labyrinth, two NBR rubber O-rings, one NBR V-ring, one cast iron body, and one grease nipple make up one seal. Because of its exceptional sealing effect, the taconite seal is employed in the harshest environments.

Many different permutations of these housing combinations and standard seals are possible. Two seals or one seal and one end-cover are required for each Plummer block.
